| Congratulations Mike and Heather! |
2010 turned out to be a very
special year for one of our dancers, Heather Kent. Mr. and Mrs. Kent were
married October 30, 2010. Mike and Heather are active members of "Penguin
Productions" theater group in Lake
Mills, WI (Link: http://madstage.com/companies/penguinproductions.html).
Both are talented, creative, and theatrical. Through their combined interests
they designed a pirate themed wedding with some Scottish flare. No detail was overlooked;
the wedding, officiated over by Heather's father, started with her brother in
full Scottish dress playing "Highland Cathedral" on his pipes. Heather wore a
beautiful tartan sash over her wedding gown too. The reception hall was transformed into a
pirate ship and festooned with pirate flags, treasure chests, and even eye
patches for each guest.
Gaelic Fusion performed four
Scottish Highland dances on the ship's deck with two dances featuring the bride.
Gaelic Fusion's co-director, Maggie Thompson, led both dancers and wedding
guests in several lively Scottish Country dances. This was a unique and
artistic celebration.
